Meet the Leadership

Please see below an introduction to our Senior Leadership Team and the rest of the Leadership Team.

Pastor
Rev Carl Morehouse

CarlMorehouseSmall2

Carl was born in 1968 and spent his early childhood in Yorkshire before moving to Devon. He grew up in the Salvation Army and after leaving school at 16 joined the Royal Marines as a bandsman. He married Sarah in 1989 and they have two sons, James and Joe. Carl committed his life to Christ in his late teens and was later baptised.

It was while serving in the Marines that Carl first felt the call to full time ministry after the bombing of his barracks by the IRA in Deal, Kent in 1989. He eventually began training for ministry and was ordained in May 2004, shortly after graduating with a first class honours degree in theology from Spurgeon’s College, London. He was inducted as the Pastor of King's Church Mildenhall in September 2004 and his usual day off is a Friday.

Carl enjoys spending time with his family, reading, music, British history, walking his dog, eating and enjoying a good movie.

Associate Pastor
Rev Tim Bright
TimBsmall

Tim was born in 1971 and grew up in Newmarket, Suffolk. From a young age he attended a Methodist Church before joining the Boys' Brigade at Burwell Baptist Church at eleven years old. Tim committed his life to Christ in 1987 and was baptised the following year.

He obtained a BSc (Hons) Degree in Electronics and Manufacturing systems at the University of Hertfordshire in 1992 and worked in Industry for five years. In 1998 he completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Education from the University of East Anglia. He taught at South Lee School for thirteen years, five of which were as the Deputy Head. In 1999 he married Carolyn and they have two sons Reece and Ethan.

Tim gave up his career in teaching to train for ministry in 2011 at Spurgeon’s College London where after three years he gained a degree in theology. From 2014 Tim became the Pastor of King Street Baptist Church, Thetford while at the same time he continued working as the part time Associate Pastor at King’s Church Mildenhall.

In 2017 Tim became the full time Associate Pastor at King’s Church Mildenhall and his usual day off is a Saturday.  Other than following Jesus and spending time with Carolyn and his children, Tim’s interests include cars, playing musical instruments, canoeing, walking, reading and watching good movies.

Lay Pastor
Rev Peter Finnis
PeterFinnisSmall
Peter was born in 1951 and has lived in or around Mildenhall ever since. He was christened at the local Methodist Church and attended Sunday School there before joining the Boy’s Brigade run by Mildenhall Baptist Church. He committed his life to Christ at 18 and at that time was baptised and became a member of this church. He married Marion in 1974 and they have a daughter, Hannah.

Having had a career in the law for 38 years Peter felt an increasingly strong call to be available for whatever help he could provide to support the work of this church. Having therefore taken early retirement he completed an “Equipped to Minister” course at Spurgeon’s Bible College London and in March 2015 he was commissioned as a Lay Pastor of this church with particular responsibility for Pastoral Care.

Peter enjoys family; food; fun; the theatre and his favourite destinations – The Lake District and Lord’s cricket ground. He is something of a sports fanatic even if now only as a spectator!

Some key information about the church...

Where & when does the church meet?
King's Church Mildenhall meets every Sunday at 10.30am for our Sunday Service.
Aim to arrive at least 10 minutes early to ensure you get a parking spot and seat in time for the service to start.

We meet at the church building in the middle of the town. The address is:

Market Street
Mildenhall
Suffolk
IP28 7EF

You can see a map on our contact us page

What should I expect when I visit the church?

You will receive a very warm welcome particularly from our Welcome Team who will be able to answer your questions and direct you to where you need to go. There will be a time of singing with opportunity for church members to pray or read a passage from the bible. After prayers there will be a preach from one of the leaders sometimes with a chance to respond at the end of the service.

Tea, coffee and biscuits are served after the service where there is plenty of time to meet new people and ask more questions.

What happens to the children at church?

We have a fantastic programme for the children at KCM for ages 0-16. Children stay with their parents at the start of the service as we worship (sing songs!) together for the first part of the morning. Someone will announce when the children need to go to their programme. You will need to go with your children and register them.

For more information about what happens in the children's work please visit the relevant age groups for you under church life.

Is there a dress code?

No! Please just be yourself and come dressed in your 'normal' clothes.

Will I have to join in?

Not at all!

You are free to simply observe or participate as much as feels comfortable for you.
