What is the Youth Café?
The youth café is a place to play games and make friends with others in a relaxed friendly atmosphere. There are very few places where this can happen in Mildenhall. Adult leaders are on hand to be a listening ear if needed.

Every Wednesday from 7.30pm we setup the building to create a lounge chat zone and main games zone.  Team type games will also be organised throughout the evening. We serve a selection of free hot and cold drink including milkshakes. There is also a small selection of free snacks to eat as well. However, please make sure that your child notifies us of any food allergies. There is no entry charge for the youth café.

Parents and carers please note that the children can enter and leave the café at any time and there will be a limit on numbers allowed in the building. Please also note that the café will close promptly at 9pm and staff are not obliged to supervise your child after this time or once they have left the premises.

Who is it for?
This is for anyone in school years 7 to 11 (Age range generally 11-16yrs). Older children will only be present if they are part of the youth leadership program.

The staff who lead this are volunteers who give their time to serve the youth of our town. Our adult supervisors are recruited according to the safeguarding and recruitment policy of King’s Church and will all be DBS checked.

Youth Agreement

At our Youth Café, we promise to do our very best to:
· Respect others as individuals - giving the other person our undivided attention, listening politely and not ridiculing what other people say.
· Respect other's culture, race and background - realising that while we are all different, that deep inside we are essentially the same.
· Take turns- let everyone have a turn and be fair when picking teams.
· Winning is not the only goal - understand that whilst winning is one goal - trying your best and shared teamwork matter too.
· Speak openly – but kindly and speak how you would like to be spoken to.
· Have the right to say “no” - if we don't want to take part in a specific activity, that's our right, but we also appreciate that trying something new or different is what makes youth group fun.
· Have fun– that is what we are here for.
· Respect other people's possessions - don't damage other people's things or take anyone else's property without asking.

Staff have the right to ask any child to leave should their behaviour not be appropriate.

An emergency telephone number and email will be required and recorded by the team for each young person in case of any problems (information will be kept confidential and only used according to GDPR guidelines)

Please note we do not allow:
· Energy drinks.
· Alcohol or drugs.
· Sexual misconduct, including harassment or discrimination.
· Violence and gang activity.
· Weapons/knives or fireworks.

WelcomeSmall
New to Church?

Welcome! Whether you've just moved to the area, or have lived here all your life - we hope our website helps you to find out everything you want to know about King's Church Mildenhall.

Some key information about the church...

Where & when does the church meet?
King's Church Mildenhall meets every Sunday at 10.30am for our Sunday Service.
Aim to arrive at least 10 minutes early to ensure you get a parking spot and seat in time for the service to start.

We meet at the church building in the middle of the town. The address is:

Market Street
Mildenhall
Suffolk
IP28 7EF

You can see a map on our contact us page

What should I expect when I visit the church?

You will receive a very warm welcome particularly from our Welcome Team who will be able to answer your questions and direct you to where you need to go. There will be a time of singing with opportunity for church members to pray or read a passage from the bible. After prayers there will be a preach from one of the leaders sometimes with a chance to respond at the end of the service.

Tea, coffee and biscuits are served after the service where there is plenty of time to meet new people and ask more questions.

What happens to the children at church?

We have a fantastic programme for the children at KCM for ages 0-16. Children stay with their parents at the start of the service as we worship (sing songs!) together for the first part of the morning. Someone will announce when the children need to go to their programme. You will need to go with your children and register them.

For more information about what happens in the children's work please visit the relevant age groups for you under church life.

Is there a dress code?

No! Please just be yourself and come dressed in your 'normal' clothes.

Will I have to join in?

Not at all!

You are free to simply observe or participate as much as feels comfortable for you.
